
Ora Kedem, an Austrian-born Israeli chemist and professor emerita, died on February 25, 2026.
She was 101. Kedem taught at the Weizmann Institute of Science and Ben-Gurion University of the Negev and received the 1961 Israel Prize for life sciences.
In 2005, she was elected to the National Academy of Engineering for contributions to thermodynamics and separation processes, including work on irreversible transport processes and the development of separation processes for the treatment of water and wastewater.
