Petter Planke Businessman dead at age 89

Petter Planke, a Norwegian businessman known for co-founding Tomra, died on February 25, 2026, aged 88.

Born in Oslo on March 7, 1937, he co-founded the industry company in 1972 with his brother, Tore Planke, and became a pioneer in the production of reverse vending machines. By 2000, Tomra held about 75% of the world market for reverse vending machines.

Planke also served as a board member of Norges Industriforbund from 1981 to 1985 and was a member of the Norwegian Export Council from 1987 to 1989. He was married to Grete Rønneberg.

Petter Planke (7 March 1937 – 25 February 2026) was a Norwegian businessman, known for the foundation of Tomra.
