Muhammad al-Khuli, a Syrian military officer who served as chief of the Syrian Arab Air Force and director of the Air Force Intelligence Directorate under President Hafez al-Assad, died on March 3, 2026.
He was 88 or 89. Born in 1937 in Beit Yashout, Syria, al-Khuli was appointed deputy chief of the Syrian Air Force in 1964 and later became chief of Air Force Intelligence after Hafez al-Assad took power in 1970.
He also received training in East Germany from 1971 to 1973.
Muhammad al-Khouli (Arabic: محمد الخولي1937 – March 2026) was a Syrian military officer who served as the chief of the Syrian Arab Air Force and the director of the Air Force Intelligence Directorate throughout the presidency of Hafez al-Assad.
