Moncho Monsalve, a Spanish basketball player and coach, died on April 28, 2026, at age 81.

José Manuel Monsalve, known as Moncho Monsalve, played for Atlético San Sebastián, Real Madrid from 1963 to 1967, SD Kas and CB Girona, retiring in 1971 because of several injuries. He later coached in Spain and France, served as coach of the Castile and León autonomous basketball team, and led Brazil at the FIBA Americas Championship 2009 after succeeding Lula Ferreira in 2008; Brazil won the gold medal.
