Masaru Ikeda Japanese voice actor, heart attack dead at age 83

Masaru Ikeda, a Japanese actor and voice actor known for his work in Yatterman, Sakura Wars and One Piece, died on January 31, 2026, of a heart attack.

Born in Tokyo on September 27, 1942, he was active from 1963 to 2026. Ikeda was a graduate of Tokyo Metro Fifth Commerce Senior High School and was affiliated with the Tokyo Actor‘s Consumer’s Cooperative Society.

He was also known for Japanese dubbing roles for Danny Glover.

Masaru Ikeda (池田 勝, Ikeda Masaru; September 27, 1942 – January 31, 2026) was a Japanese actor and voice actor from Tokyo. He was a graduate of the Tokyo Metro Fifth Commerce Senior High School and was affiliated with the Tokyo Actor’s Consumer’s Cooperative Society. He is best known for his roles in Yatterman (as the Yatter Machines), Sakura Taisen (as Ikki Yoneda) and Japanese dubbing roles for Danny Glover. Ikeda died on January 31, 2026, at the age of 83.
