Desmond Williams, the British architect who specialised in church architecture, died on January 31, 2026, aged 93.
Desmond James Williams OBE was influenced by the Liturgical Movement and was among the most important architects of the Catholic Modernist movement in the United Kingdom. Born in Whalley Range, Manchester, on 7 July 1932, he studied at Xaverian Grammar School and the University of Manchester School of Architecture.
He later married Felicity McDonnell and Susan Richardson.
