Mark McCullough, an American lighting designer, died on December 31, 2025.
A native of North Carolina, he studied at the North Carolina School of the Arts and the Yale School of Drama, earning a Master of Fine Arts from Yale in 1991. After graduating, he worked on opera and theatre productions in the United States and Europe, designing for Broadway and the West End.
He had long associations with the Glimmerglass Festival, the New York City Opera and the San Francisco Opera, and also worked for the Metropolitan Opera, the Lyric Opera of Chicago, the Houston Grand Opera, the Royal Opera, London, and the Royal Shakespeare Company.
Mark McCullough (September 13, 1963 – December 31, 2025) was an American lighting designer. Other organizations he worked for included the Metropolitan Opera, the Lyric Opera of Chicago, the Houston Grand Opera, the Royal Opera, London, and Royal Shakespeare Company among many others.
