Manuel Estella, a Spanish politician and president of the Cortes of Castile and León from 1991 to 2003, died on March 24, 2026.

Estella Hoyos was a deputy in the Cortes of Castile and León from 1983 to 2003. A member of the People’s Alliance and later the People’s Party, he entered politics in 1982 and led the party in the Province of Salamanca from 1984 to 1992.

Born in Salamanca on 19 August 1939, he graduated in law from the University of Salamanca and worked as a state lawyer before becoming speaker of the regional legislature in 1991.

Manuel Estella Hoyos (19 August 1939 – 25 March 2026) was a Spanish politician. As a member of the People’s Alliance and later People’s Party, he was a deputy in the Cortes of Castile and León from 1983 to 2003, and the legislature’s president (speaker) from 1991 to 2003.
