Jerome Dhas Varuvel, Indian Roman Catholic prelate and bishop of Kuzhithurai from 2014 to 2020, died on March 24, 2026, from complications of dementia and Parkinson’s disease.

He was born on October 21, 1951, in Paduvoor, Madras State, India. Varuvel served the Diocese of Kuzhithurai during his tenure as bishop and died in Chetpet, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, at age 74.

Jerome Dhas Varuvel, SDB (21 October 1951 – 24 March 2026) was an Indian Roman Catholic prelate, who served as the Bishop of the Diocese of Kuzhithurai from 2014 until 2020.
