Khalid Nizami, the Pakistani comedian actor and music composer known for comic roles in television dramas such as Ankahi, died on July 29, 2026, aged 78.
He was identified with comic characters in PTV productions from 1970 onward and became widely remembered for his performance in Haseena Moin’s Ankahi. In 1973, he composed the song “Tum Sung Nainan Laagay,” sung by Rubina Badar, which went on to become a classic hit.
Nizami also wrote music for singer A. Nayyar and acted in Haseena Moin’s Eid Ka Jora and Shehzori, as well as the Urdu film Haqeeqat (1974).
