
Karin Spaink, a Dutch journalist, writer and feminist activist, died on May 8, 2026, at age 68.
She wrote a regular column for Het Parool from 1992 to 2022 and previously contributed to De Groene Amsterdammer from 1994 to 2003. Spaink was born in Amsterdam on Dec.
20, 1957, trained as a secondary school teacher specializing in English, and later studied sociology at the University of Amsterdam. She was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1986, worked as a computer programmer, served with the Pacifist Socialist Party, and in 2018 became editor-in-chief of Follow the Money.
