Abdelwahab Doukkali, a Moroccan composer and performer, died on May 8, 2026, at the age of 85.
Born in Fes on Jan. 2, 1941, he was one of 13 children in a conservative family.
At age 18, he went to Rabat in 1959 and briefly worked at RTM, or Radio Television Maroc, before moving to Casablanca, where he first entered the music culture.
