Joe Senser, an American football player who was a tight end for the Minnesota Vikings, died on May 7, 2026, at the age of 69.
Born in Philadelphia on August 18, 1956, he played college football for the West Chester Golden Rams and was selected by the Vikings in the sixth round of the 1979 NFL draft. He earned a Pro Bowl berth after the 1981 season and played in all 16 games that year, setting career highs with 79 receptions, 1,004 receiving yards, 12.7 yards per catch and eight touchdowns.
Senser ranks third in Vikings history among tight ends with 165 receptions and 16 touchdowns. A serious knee injury caused him to miss the 1983 season, and he returned in 1984.
