A midfielder, he made his mark with KAA Gent, helping the club win the Belgian Cup in 1964 and secure its first major trophy. That final saw Gent rally from 2–0 down against KFC Diest to win 4–2 after extra time.

Storme later played for Standard Liège in the 1960s and finished his professional career at VG Oostende, where he went on to work as a coach. He also coached at other clubs in the 1990s.
