Guy Tudor, an American ornithologist, bird illustrator and conservationist, died on July 14, 2026, aged 91.

A self-taught artist as well as a naturalist, he helped document and preserve nature through his ornithological illustrations, producing field-guide plates that covered a large part of the neotropical avifauna. His work drew on field notes, direct observation, photographs and museum collections, and he directed, organized and helped illustrate plates for several guides to the Neotropics, including A Guide to the Birds of Venezuela.

Tudor studied at Princeton University and Yale University before serving in the United States Army from 1958 to 1960.
