Gualtiero Calboli, an Italian linguist and classicist, died on March 21, 2026.
He was Chair of Latin Language and Literature at the University of Bologna, where he was appointed in 1973. From 1982 to 2000, he headed the Department of Classical and Medieval Philology.
He also edited the major series Papers on Grammar, published by CLUEB in Bologna and later by Herder in Rome from 1980 to 2008, and edited editions of Marcus Porcius Cato and Cornificius.
Gualtiero Calboli (3 January 1932 – 22 March 2026) was an Italian classicist and linguist. He was Chair of Latin Language and Literature at the University of Bologna, in Italy.
