Born in Aznalcóllar on October 19, 1944, he grew up as a goat farmer, a trade he continued even after gaining prominence as a singer. He began his artistic career in 1972 with the group La Cuadra and toured across Spain and broader Europe.
In 1975, he released his first album and was honored at the Concurso Nacional de Arte Flamenco.
