
Claude Morin, a Canadian politician and former Parti Québécois member of the National Assembly for Louis-Hébert, died on May 5, 2026.
He was 96. Born in Montmorency, Quebec, Morin earned a bachelor’s degree from Université Laval and a master’s degree in social welfare from Columbia University in New York City.
He later taught at the École nationale d’administration publique. Morin served as an economic adviser to the Quebec cabinet from 1961 to 1965 and as deputy minister of federal-provincial affairs from 1963 to 1967. Elected in 1976 after an unsuccessful run in 1973, he served as Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs under Premier René Lévesque before resigning as MNA in December 1981.
