
Cheryl Mary Clare Hurst, an Antiguan and Barbudan politician and senator, died on May 5, 2026, at age 63.
She served in the Upper House of Parliament in Antigua and Barbuda from 2014 to 2026 and was appointed senator by Prime Minister Gaston Browne. Hurst was also the first female general secretary of the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party.
After the 2018 general elections, she was appointed senator again and retained the seat in 2023. She announced on August 21, 2024, that she would step down from the Senate for personal reasons, and she was scheduled to be replaced by Richie Richardson.
