Born Chad Everett Gilbert in Coral Springs, Florida, he played lead guitar and sang backing vocals for the punk rock band and also served as the lead vocalist for its side project, International Superheroes of Hardcore. Gilbert was additionally the vocalist for Shai Hulud during two separate stints, from 1995 to 1998 and again from 2012 to 2013.
A graduate of J. P. Taravella High School, he began his career in 1995 and later produced records for other bands, including work associated with H2O and A Day to Remember.
