Born in the 16th arrondissement of Paris on May 31, 1983, he trained at the École Jeannine Manuel before spending two years in New Jersey, where he appeared in stage productions in English. After returning to France, he studied under Dominique Valadié at the Conservatoire national supérieur d’art dramatique.
In 2003, he founded the Compagnons de la Chimère and later led the company for 15 years; during that period, he received the Prix du Brigadier for his staging of Les Femmes Savantes in 2009. Denis also wrote the play Autour de la folie in 2011 and went on to direct Nuremb… in 2016.
