
Alevtina Fedulova, a Russian political activist and leader of the Soviet Women’s Committee, later the Union of Women of Russia, died on February 5, 2026, at the age of 85.
Born Alevtina Vasilyevna Timakova on April 14, 1940, in Elektrostal, Moscow Oblast, she went on to study at a local technical school linked to a factory and later trained in Moscow for a teaching career. She became a teacher of biology and chemistry after graduating and worked as a high school teacher for ten years.
