Wiesław Myśliwski, a Polish novelist and playwright, died on March 29, 2026.
He was 94. Born on March 25, 1932, in Dwikozy, Poland, he was raised in Ćmielów and later studied philology at the Catholic University of Lublin, graduating in 1956.
Myśliwski worked on the editorial staff of the Ludowa Spółdzielnia Wydawnicza from 1956 to 1976. He was a two-time recipient of the Nike Award, Poland‘s most important literary prize, and was known for works including Kamień na kamieniu, Widnokrąg and Traktat o łuskaniu fasoli.
