
Jay Paul Robinson, an American Hall of Fame wrestler and coach, died on March 29, 2026.
Known as J Robinson, he competed in the 1972 Summer Olympics as a middleweight Greco-Roman wrestler. He also finished fourth at the 1970 World Championships in Edmonton and fifth at the 1971 World Championships in Sofia.
Robinson later served as head wrestling coach at the University of Minnesota for 30 years, until his termination in 2016 following an investigation into a prescription drug scandal involving the Golden Gophers wrestling program.
