Silvio Benedetto, the Argentine painter and sculptor, died on May 16, 2026, at the age of 88.
Born in Buenos Aires on March 21, 1938, he was a naturalized Italian and worked across painting and sculpture. He won first prize at the 2nd Biennial of Pan-American Sacred Art in Buenos Aires in 1956, at age 18, and went on to hold solo exhibitions between 1957 and 1961, including one at the Museo Provincial de Bellas Artes in Tucumán.
