Dennis Locorriere, the American singer and guitarist best known for his work with Dr.
Hook, died on May 16, 2026, of kidney disease. He was 76.
Born Dennis Michael Locorriere in Union City, New Jersey, on June 13, 1949, he was a founding member and lead vocalist of the country rock group Dr. Hook, formerly Dr. Hook & the Medicine Show. His career spanned from 1968 to 2026, and he also worked as a songwriter and actor. Locorriere toured worldwide billed as “Dr. Hook” and retained ownership of the trademark name.
