Roger Cook, the New Zealand-born British investigative journalist and television broadcaster known for The Cook Report, died on June 13, 2026, aged 83.
Born on April 6, 1943, he was brought up in Australia after his New Zealand-born parents moved there, and began his career with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation as a reporter and newsreader on radio and television. He moved to the United Kingdom in 1968 and went on to work on BBC Radio 4’s The World at One, as well as programmes including PM, Nationwide and Newsnight.
In 1997, he received a BAFTA special award for 25 years of outstanding investigative reporting on The Cook Report.
