Born on October 4, 1934, O’Driscoll was educated at Bishop’s University. He was ordained a deacon in 1964 and a priest in 1966, and later held ministry posts in Ottawa, Kitchener, London and Sarnia before becoming Dean of Huron in 1980 and then suffragan bishop in 1987.
