Olufemi Majekodunmi, the British–Nigerian architect, died on June 5, 2026, at the age of 86.
Born in London on May 1, 1940, he was also known as Olufemi Adetokunbo Majekodunmi. He studied architecture at the Glasgow School of Art and Kingston College of Art, now Kingston University, graduating in 1966.
After working in Washington, D.C., he returned to Nigeria and joined Godwin and Hopwood Architects in Lagos before founding Femi Majekodunmi Associates in 1973, the firm now known as FMA Architects Ltd. He also worked as an academic and was employed by the University of Lagos.
