
Nev MacEwan, a New Zealand rugby union player, died on March 11, 2026, aged 91.
Born Ian Neven MacEwan in Auckland on May 1, 1934, he was educated at Nelson College, where he played in the 1st XV in 1951 and 1952. A lock and number eight, he represented Wellington at provincial level in 133 appearances between 1954 and 1967.
He played 52 matches for the All Blacks from 1956 to 1962, including 20 test matches, and captained the side in three tour matches.
