
Wendy Playfair, the Australian actress best known for her role in Prisoner, died on March 11, 2026, aged 99.
Born in Woollahra, New South Wales, on August 28, 1926, she began her career in radio serials before moving into theatre, television and film. Her television work included the role of inmate Minerva “Minnie” Donovan in Prisoner in 1983-84, and she also appeared in Home and Away.
Playfair’s screen credits extended to film, including the 2009 release Accidents Happen.
