Murt Duggan Irish hurler dead at age 84

Murt Duggan, Irish hurler and selector, died on April 11, 2026, aged 84.

Born in Gortnahoe, County Tipperary, in 1941, he played at club level with Gortnahoe–Glengoole and Ballingarry. He first played hurling at juvenile and underage levels with Gortnahoe–Glengoole and was later called up to the Tipperary minor team, lining out at wing-forward in the side that beat Kilkenny to win the All-Ireland minor title in 1959.

In retirement, Duggan moved into team management and coaching and later served as a selector with the Tipperary senior hurling team under Len Gaynor in 1997.
