Born María de los Milagros Ximénez de Cisneros Rebollo in Seville, she began studying journalism at the University of Seville before leaving her studies and moving to Madrid at 18. From February 1986, she wrote a weekly column for ABC, where her “Café con Mila Santana” section featured interviews with figures including Andrés Segovia, Antonio Mingote, Cayetana de Alba, Leonard Cohen and Plácido Domingo.
She was also known as a writer, gossip columnist and television personality.
