Makybe Diva, the Australian Thoroughbred racehorse and only horse to win three Melbourne Cups, died on February 28, 2026, aged 26.
She won the Melbourne Cup in 2003, 2004, and 2005, and remains the only mare to have won the race more than once. She also won the 2005 Cox Plate and was the highest stakes-earner in Australian history, with more than A$14 million in prize money.
