Machana Shamukuni Politician dies

Machana Shamukuni, a Motswana politician, died on April 2, 2026.

He served as Minister of Justice from the department’s creation in 2022 until 2024 and was a Member of the National Assembly for the Chobe constituency from 2014 to 2024. Shamukuni was elected to the National Assembly in the 2014 general election, defeating BCP candidate Gibson Nshimwe, and won reelection in 2019 against UDC candidate Simasiku Mapulanga.

During his first term, he was appointed Assistant Minister of Presidential Affairs.

Machana Ronald Shamukuni (died April 2026) was a Motswana politician who served as the Minister of Justice from the department’s creation in 2022 until 2024. He was a Member of the National Assembly for the constituency of Chobe from 2014–2024.
