Nick Savva, Cypriot-born British greyhound trainer and breeder, died on April 2, 2026, aged 91.

Born in British Cyprus in 1934, he later moved to London, where he worked in an engineering factory and then a restaurant before starting to attend race meetings at Harringay Stadium in 1952. He later ran a dressmaking business, met Natalie Drew in 1957, and married her in 1961.

The couple sold the business and bought a kennels, going on to train and breed greyhounds at Westmead Kennels. Savva was a four-time winner of the English Greyhound Derby and was regarded as Britain’s most successful breeder alongside his wife, Natalie Savva, who died in 2019.

Nicolas Savva (1934 – 2 April 2026) was a Cypriot-born British greyhound trainer and breeder. He was a four times winner of the English Greyhound Derby and was regarded as Britain’s most successful breeder, along with his wife Natalie Savva (1935–2019) who also held the kennels training licence at one time.
