Lee Hong-koo, the South Korean politician who served as prime minister from 1994 to 1995, died on May 4, 2026.

He was 92. Lee also served as South Korean ambassador to the United Kingdom and the United States, and was the founding chairman of the East Asia Institute in Seoul.
