Kevin Buys, a South African rugby union player, died on May 13, 2026, aged 40.
Born in Benoni on April 26, 1986, he began his career as a youth player with the Blue Bulls and made his senior debut in the Vodacom Cup in 2007. He moved to French club CA Brive later that year and made 15 appearances in the 2007-08 Top 14 season.
Buys returned to South Africa in 2009 to join the Golden Lions, playing in the Currie Cup and Vodacom Cup, before linking up with the Eastern Province Kings in 2012 and being named in the Southern Kings squad for the 2013 Super Rugby season.
