Jacques Michon, a Canadian literary historian and academic, died on April 1, 2026, in Sherbrooke, Quebec.
He was 80. Born in Montreal on May 12, 1945, Michon was a professor at the Université de Sherbrooke, where he co-founded the Groupe de recherches et d’études sur le livre au Québec with Richard Giguère.
He directed the group from 1982 to 2006, and that year received the Grand prix littéraire de la ville de Sherbrooke. He retired in 2014.
