Jack Harliwich, a New Zealand cricketer, died on April 1, 2026, aged 95.
Born in Christchurch on July 14, 1930, he was a right-arm medium pacer who played one first-class match for Canterbury in the Plunket Shield competition, against Wellington at Lancaster Park in January 1952. In that match, he was Canterbury’s fifth bowler in each innings, taking 1 for 30 in the first and 0 for 29 in the second, and dismissed John Reid for a duck.
He also played for several Canterbury representative sides in non-first-class matches. In 1983, he was appointed Canterbury’s coach.
