Jack Douglas, an American record producer known for his work on “Toys in the Attic,” “Rocks” and “Double Fantasy,” died on May 11, 2026.
He was 80. Douglas was a record producer, musician and engineer whose career in rock music spanned from 1971 to 2026.
Born in the Bronx, New York City, in 1945, he trained at the Institute of Audio Research and was a member of its first graduating class. He also worked with John Lennon and Yoko Ono, Patti Smith, Cheap Trick and the New York Dolls, and produced four successful albums for Aerosmith.
