Evelyn Wilson American judge, complications from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis dead at age 66

Evelyn Wilson, an American judge and justice of the Kansas Supreme Court, died on April 4, 2026, at age 66 from complications from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

Wilson was born in Smith Center, Kansas, on December 6, 1959. She graduated from Bethany College in 1982 with a bachelor’s degree in business and from Washburn University School of Law in 1985.

Wilson practiced law for 19 years in private practice, including work as a managing partner and as an adjunct professor at Washburn University School of Law.
