Born Dominick Anthony Occhicone Jr. on August 29, 1945, in Carmel, New York, he was incarcerated in Florida after being convicted of the June 10, 1986, murders of Raymond and Martha Artzner, the parents of his former girlfriend.
Authorities said he shot the couple inside their home in Holiday, Florida, and that he blamed them for the breakup of the relationship. Occhicone was sentenced to death for Martha Artzner’s murder and to life imprisonment for Raymond Artzner’s murder. His execution at Florida State Prison in Raiford made him the oldest inmate executed in Florida.
