Domingo Buesa Conde, a Spanish historian, writer, politician and Aragonese cultural advocate, died on September 16, 2026, aged 73.

Born in Bagüés in 1952, he earned a doctorate in history from the University of Zaragoza, where his thesis focused on Zaragoza between 1868 and 1874. He taught secondary education in Zaragoza from 1979 and later held a series of cultural posts, including director general of culture and heritage for the Government of Aragon from 1996 to 1999, director of the state’s high inspection service in Aragon from 2001 to 2003, and president of the Royal Academy of Nobles and Fine Arts of San Luis in Zaragoza from 2009.

He was also an adopted son of Jaca, a corresponding academic of several learned institutions, and the first scientific director of the Diocesan Museum of the Archdiocese of Zaragoza.
