Bruno Turner, a British musicologist, died on June 9, 2026, aged 95.
Born in London on February 17, 1931, he devoted much of his career to early music, with a particular emphasis on Spanish polyphony. Turner began conducting Renaissance ensembles in the 1950s and later worked as secretary to the Renaissance Singers, a role that helped lead to the creation of the Pro Musica Sacra choir.
He was also active as a radio broadcaster from 1958 and spent many years as a conductor and speaker, including frequent work with Pro Cantione Antiqua of London from the late 1960s into the 1990s.
