Agni Deo Singh, the Fijian politician and trade unionist who served as Minister for Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations, died on September 12, 2026.
Born in rural Macuata in Vanua Levu, he trained as a teacher at Corpus Christi Teachers College and went on to earn a diploma and a bachelor of arts from the University of the South Pacific. Singh worked as a teacher in Kadavu, Nausori and Nasinu before entering trade union leadership, serving as general secretary of the Fiji Teachers Union from 1999 to 2006 and again from 2007 to 2022.
He was elected to the Parliament of Fiji in the 2022 election and served in the coalition government.
