Viktor Kudriavtsev, the Russian figure skating coach and choreographer, died on June 22, 2026, at the age of 88.
Born in Tula on October 24, 1937, Kudriavtsev began skating at 16 and moved into coaching six years later, building a long career in Soviet and Russian figure skating. He worked at rinks in Sokolniki, Luzhniki, Olimpiyski and Moskvich, and later remained active as a consultant and summer camp trainer in Moscow and in Filz, Switzerland.
Among the skaters associated with his coaching were Sergey Volkov, the 1998 Olympic champion Ilia Kulik, Elena Sokolova, Ilia Klimkin, Victoria Volchkova, Alexander Shubin, Andrejs Vlascenko and Evan Lysacek. He was also known as Viktor Nikolayevich Kudriavtsev.
