Teh Kew San dead at age 91, public figure

Teh Kew San, a Malaysian badminton player, died on May 14, 2026, at age 91 from complications of a urinary tract infection.

Born in Penang, Malaya, on January 26, 1935, he won national and international titles from the late 1950s to the mid-1960s. An all-rounder who competed in singles, doubles and mixed doubles, his greatest successes came in men’s doubles with Lim Say Hup.

They won several major international tournaments on three continents, including the All-England title in 1959. His singles titles included the Mexico City International in 1960 and the Asian Championship in 1962.
