
Suresh Harilal Soni, an Indian social worker and Padma Shri winner (2025), died on April 23, 2026, at the age of 81.
He worked for the welfare and rehabilitation of leprosy patients and intellectually disabled people. Born on November 23, 1944, in Sinor, Vadodara, Gujarat, he earned a Master of Science with first-class honors from M.
S. University, Vadodara. In 1988, he founded Sahyog trust to support affected people and was known as Sabarkantha no Sahyojak. He was assisted in his work by his wife, Indira Soni, and they had two children, Dipak and Parul.
