Slavenko Saletović, a Serbian theatre director and professor, died on June 15, 2026, at the age of 78.
Born in Visoko on May 11, 1948, he studied at the Academy for Theatre, Film, Radio and Television, entering in 1968 in the class of Professor Dr. Hugo Klajn and graduating in 1972 with top marks under Professor Dimitrije Đurković.
He served as a permanent director in the Drama of the Serbian National Theatre in Novi Sad during the 1973/74 season, then joined the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade as an assistant in 1974. Over the years he rose through the academic ranks and was elected a full professor in 1991, later heading the chair for theatre and radio directing at the University of Arts in Belgrade.
